The events programme doesn't exist yet — which means it can be exactly what it should be. Lusthaven is building a queer, sex‑positive programme shaped by the people who will use it.
Queer communities today are international. The internet brings us together in incredible ways, but many of us are more isolated than ever. Lusthaven is creating a place to gather, to touch, to meet each other in real space.
Our target property — a historic Flemish estate — will become the home for everything described here once secured. A place with the scale, beauty, and presence queer communities deserve.
Accessible by high‑speed rail from across Europe, this will be the perfect place for weekend gatherings for each of Europe's vivid queer communities.
Lusthaven will run dedicated events for gay men — properly produced, with real sound, real atmosphere, and spaces designed from the ground up for sex‑positive exploration.
These are not events where the playspace is an afterthought tucked behind a velvet rope. They are designed from the ground up as integrated experiences — where dancing, socialising, and exploring coexist without hierarchy or shame.
Weekend formats will include accommodation for those who want to stay. The estate's grounds give these events a scale and setting that simply doesn't exist anywhere else.
Too many "inclusive" sex‑positive spaces are gay men's spaces with a footnote. Lusthaven is different — femme and queer women's desire, comfort, and experience are design inputs, not afterthoughts.
Dedicated femme events will run in their own right, with programming shaped by and for this community. Daylight gatherings across the estate's grounds, intimate nights in the castle's interiors, and formats that honour the ways femme communities want to connect.
The playspace design reflects this too — with the same seriousness, care, and intentionality that shape every part of the programme.
Trans and non‑binary people deserve spaces where their presence is not tolerated but celebrated — where existing freely is the point, not a political footnote.
Lusthaven will run events specifically for trans and non‑binary people and their communities. Retreat formats that give people time to breathe, be seen, and find each other in a setting that is genuinely beautiful and genuinely theirs.
Because this project is community‑owned, trans and non‑binary members have real voice in shaping what this becomes — not just as attendees, but as co‑creators.
Beyond strand‑specific events, Lusthaven will host gatherings for the whole queer community — the kind that work precisely because the space is designed for everyone, not levelled down to a lowest common denominator.
Festival weekends. Season celebrations. Community assemblies that feel like events. The castle grounds in summer, the stone interiors in winter. Multi‑night gatherings that use the full scale of the estate.
These are also the moments when the community membership model comes into its own — when people who have invested in this place, in all the ways that word means, come together in a space we are building together.
Lusthaven isn't a single type of event — it's a home for many. The estate's scale, privacy, and architecture make it possible to host gatherings that simply don't fit inside a city venue. From intimate workshops to full‑estate takeovers, the programme will grow with the communities who shape it.
Daytime and evening workshops led by community members and invited facilitators. Consent, communication, kink skills, embodiment, intimacy, and the many ways queer people learn from each other.
Low‑pressure, high‑connection events: garden afternoons, fireside evenings, community dinners, and the kinds of meetups that make a place feel like home.
Properly produced nights with real sound, real atmosphere, and playspaces designed as part of the event — not hidden behind a curtain. Formats shaped by the needs and desires of each community.
Multi‑day gatherings that use the full estate: workshops, rest, connection, and time to breathe. Perfect for trans and non‑binary communities, femme groups, and anyone who needs space to arrive fully.
Member‑led gatherings where the cooperative’s governance becomes a lived experience. Spaces to meet, vote, shape the project, and celebrate the community that owns it.
Full‑estate takeovers built around specific community interests — bondage, pups, fisting, leather, and other subcultures that thrive when given space, privacy, and the freedom to create their own world for a weekend.
Not a night out.
A place to come back to. Lusthaven — opening 2027
Weekend and multi‑night events will offer accommodation on the estate — because the experience shouldn't end when the music stops, and because the price of a bed shouldn't decide who gets to be here.
Four options. Same event. Same community.
Pitch a tent in the grounds. Shared facilities. Close enough to be part of everything, far enough to be quiet.
A bed in a shared dormitory in one of the castle's wings. Comfortable, clean, communal.
A room to yourselves in the castle or the wings. Simple, well‑kept, with a door that locks.
The castle's original rooms — high ceilings, heritage details, views across the grounds.
Pricing for each tier will be confirmed when the events programme launches. Community members receive priority booking across all tiers.
The playspaces at Lusthaven are not an annexe to the event. They are part of it — architecturally, philosophically, and in practice.
Designed in dialogue with the communities who will use them. Governed by a consent framework that is written into the cooperative's founding documents.
Multiple spaces within the castle and wings — each designed for different moods and group sizes. Dark rooms, social areas, and spaces that live at the threshold between the two.
What works for a gay men's night is not what works for a femme event. The design accommodates both — and everything in between.
The playspaces connect naturally to the social and dance spaces. No separate wristbands. No hidden entrances. No shame.
Safety supplies, cleanliness, lighting that actually works, and staff who are present without being intrusive.
The consent and safer‑space framework applies everywhere, at all times, without exception.
Events and playspaces are phone‑free by default to protect everyone's privacy.
Playspace access is included in every event ticket. No premium zones.
